Punjab_Kesari — Inspired by the Parametric Lattice of New Delhi
The Punjab_Kesari pattern is inspired by the iconic perforated façade of the Punjab Kesari Headquarters in New Delhi — a masterpiece of parametric design where geometry becomes both structure and ornament. The building’s enveloping skin is composed of an intricate network of hexagonal modules that expand, contract, and dissolve, creating a dynamic gradient of openings across the curved surface.
Pennata translates this architectural language into a refined silk motif where small geometric units repeat in a fluid, tessellated composition. The interplay of hexagonal forms creates a sense of movement and lightness, echoing the façade’s ability to filter daylight while maintaining a sculptural presence. The resulting pattern feels both contemporary and deeply rooted in the tradition of Indian jali screens — a dialogue between heritage and innovation.
Hand-printed on fine Italian silk and crafted with artisanal expertise, Punjab_Kesari expresses Pennata’s dedication to transforming the world’s architectural icons into wearable works of art. Its structured yet organic rhythm makes it a distinctive accessory for those who appreciate geometry, cultural depth, and modern design.
